Space science has been at the heart of humanity's activity in space, a fact reflected in the body of space law set up to regulate such activity. The increase in commercial utilisation of space may threaten the conduct of space science; reform of space law, however, could alleviate this situation. Using the examples of radio and light interference, and space debris, this articles examines ways in which the law could be reformed to improve conditions for scientists. It also discusses the need for, and equitable ways of, prioritising space activities. The forthcoming IHY 2007 should provide an opportunity for scientists to showcase their achievements. 相似文献

Geological analysis and evaluation of digitally processed and enhanced LANDSAT MSS data products for three test areas of Singhbhum Shear Zone, India has led to certain significant results regarding optimisation and utility of such techniques for geological studies and obtaining additional/new information regarding lithology and structure. Three band-to-band ratio images are found to give best results. Lithologic formations could be subdivided into a number of units. The Westward and southeastward extension of the shear zone could be delineated thereby indicating scope of mineralisation in these parts. 相似文献

An optimum pitch steering program is developed, using a minimax technique, for a multistage launch vehicle in the presence of large parameter uncertainties. The uncertainties are characterized by deterministic bounds on the respective parameters. The pitch steering program is obtained by maximizing two independent scalar performance ance indexes. 1) the coast apogee velocity for a specified altitude; 2) the perigee of the satellite orbit. The product of dynamic pressure and angle of attack is constrained so as to minimize the structural loads during the atmospheric flight. The values of the uncertain parameters are determined by minimizing the same performance indexes in order to achieve a worst case design. The existence of saddle point solution to this class of problems is shown using the techniques of differential game theory. The conjugate gradient algorithm has been used for computer er aided design of the minimax technique. 相似文献
